How to be... an eco-traveller
As a Travel Company, we love the world and we want to protect it. So here's how you can up your eco-credentials on your holiday...
1. Grab An Old Bag
Pop a reusable cloth bag in your luggage, so any souvenirs you buy while away don’t need to be packed in plastic.
2. Listen To Your Hotel
You know that note in the hotel room on being green? Take note! Help a hotel up their eco-credentials by reusing towels and turning off lights and air con when it’s not needed.
3. Buy Local
Get souvenirs from the market rather than the airport, and use local restaurants rather than big chains (our private guides have some great recommendations, and they'll typically save you money as well!).
If you’re staying near a remote village, consider visiting it, to buy supplies and keepsakes and meet the neighbours.
4. Top Up On Sun
Consider solar chargers for laptops and mobile phones – which are also handy when you forget your travel adaptor (not that we've ever done this... ever !)
5. Don't Mess With The Wildlife
We offer a fantastic range of unique experiences linked to local wildlife – from cruising the Pantanal to Gorilla trekking in Uganda - but remember to leave the environment as you found it. Picking flowers or leaves and touching animals can interrupt the chain of nature with unpredictable and very damaging consequences.
