Day One: Arrive in Iceland
You’ll arrive in Reykjavik airport in Iceland by lunchtime, giving yourself time to explore the city at your leisure. Why not wander the pretty harbourside, or check out Hallgrímskirkja – the tallest church in the country – designed to reflect the mountains and glaciers of the Icelandic landscape. Grab an early dinner in town, before heading to Reykjavik’s old harbour for your whale watching experience. What better way to fully experience the uniqueness of the bright Icelandic summer nights than out on the waters underneath the midnight sun. Custom made RIB boats allow you to get close to the whales and puffins in their natural habitat on the islands in the bay.

Day Two: Golden Circle with a Twist
After breakfast, you’ll be picked up by your guide for an adventure to Iceland’s greatest sights. Today you’ll sit behind the wheel of a powerful Arctic Truck on a privately-guided self-drive tour (if you don’t fancy driving or want to take a look at the scenery, your guide will be more than happy to drive for you). First, you’ll visit Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO Heritage Site that was home of the Icelandic Viking Government from 930 AD to 1798. You’ll follow a mountain road with views over lava fields and Iceland’s second biggest glacier – Langjökull – before stopping off to watch the Strokkur Geyser magnificently spout boiling water to a height of 35 metres. Next, you’ll head up to the majestic Gullfoss waterfall with its multi-step cascade. Depending on weather conditions, your guide will take you on some off road tracks so you can really appreciate the power of the Arctic Truck. For those that want even more action we can arrange an optional snowmobiling tour experience (see the Extras tab for details).

Day Three: Golden Circle, Gullfoss and Geysers
With you behind the wheel of the Arctic Truck you'll take the main road East along the South coast, passing small Icelandic farms all the way to the foot of the world famous Eyjafjallajokull glacier. The first stop is at the popular sight Seljalandsfoss waterfall where if you're feeling brave, you can take a walk behind the waterfall as it falls from the very high cliffs.
From the waterfall, you'll take a gravel road and drive between two glaciers on the rutted tracks and crossing a few unbridged glacier rivers before arriving at Porsmork Valley at the foot of Myrdalsjokull glacier and Katla volcano. It's impossible to reach the valley on a regular vehicle, the guide teaches you how to cross the rivers on the super jeep and why the tyres need to be deflated on the way. In Porsmork Valley you make stops at Gigokull outlet glacier and Stakkholtsgja canyon to explore a hidden waterfall.

You'll arrive in Reykjavik in the afternoon and enjoy the evening at leisure, exploring the city's fine restaurants and vibrant atmosphere. The city comes to life with locals and tourists alike in the bright summer evenings.
*This evening, there’ll be another chance for the Whale Watching tour in the evening if the tour was cancelled due to weather on day 1.
