Day Two: The best of the city!
Get set for a day of adventure in the capital of the Russian Federation, where ancient monuments rub shoulders with futuristic skyscrapers. Over the course of the morning, you’ll discover its major sites alongside your private guide, taking in the Kremlin, Victory Park, the White House, the pedestrianised shopping street of Arblat and much more. Break for a traditional lunch at a Russian restaurant, before setting out on foot to discover Red Square up close. There will be plenty of time for pictures as you discover the Kremlin Walls, Lenin’s Tomb, St Basil’s Cathedral, Resurrection Gate, the famous GUM department store and the Russian State Historical Museum, then spend some time strolling through neighbouring Alexander Garden, packed with intricate architectural monuments. Afterwards, you’ll board a double-decker boat for a two-hour cruise along the Movska River, seeing key sights including the Kremlin and the colossal Cathedral of Christ the Saviour from a totally different perspective.

Day Three: High art
Start your day at the State Tretyakov Gallery, which holds more than 150,000 precious works by painters from the 11th to 19th centuries, as well as an incredible collection of Russian Icons. You’ll lunch on traditional Russian food at a nearby restaurant, before heading to the Bolshoi Theatre. Founded in 1776, this is one of the most important theatres in the world – and you’ll get a glimpse into its secret backstage world as you discover its ornate interior and fascinating history on a private tour. Afterwards, settle into one of the theatre seats to enjoy an opera or ballet performance from the Bolshoi Company, renowned as one of the best in the world.
